Oh boy! This one was a tear jerker.

Put yourself in this position, for a moment:

  • You are a brilliant strategist with an agile mind.
  • You are born into one of the most politically intense periods in time.
  • Because you are a female, your gifts are under appreciated.
  • Your political value lies in marrying the proper man and producing his heirs. This is expected of you.
  • You don’t want to have children. But because you ARE so strategic, you recognize the position a good marriage affords you and your family.
  • You marry. You have only one heir, one child.
  • You love this child. He’s the light of your life. You love your husband, too, and he you (get the hankerchief ready).
  • Your only child dies.
  • Your husband leaves you; he’s been engaged in battle.
  • EVERYONE is chattering, “Will the King seek a different, more fertile, wife?”

Yeah. I’d be emotional too. Watch this session with a hanky and send some love back to the past.
